This is a further step in the same direction as remission.
Where remission is the forgiveness of sins, justification is the actual removing of all the evidence of sin. So that the person accused of sin can now be legally declared not guilty!
Why?
Because there is no evidence! The evidence is gone!
That’s what the blood of Jesus does; it takes away the evidence of sin. It’s as if the person had never sinned... at all! They are justified from all accusation of sin and declared... innocent!
"Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Rom 5:1 "Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus." Rom 3:24
Ask yourself this question... If a man is declared innocent and there’s absolutely no evidence to convict him... none what so ever! Which just and competent court in a civilized nation will sentence that man to prison? |
